The Suzuki Vitara - Highly efficient full hybrid drive

Source: AutoMotoTV (Glomex)

At the heart of the new Vitara full hybrid is a 24 kW electric motor that not only supports the new 1.5-liter DUALJET four-cylinder gasoline engine with 75 kW (102 hp) during acceleration, but can also power the Vitara on its own. The system output is 85 kW (115 hp). The system is coupled to a 6-speed automated manual transmission (AGS). In everyday driving, the Vitara full hybrid combines the advantages of purely electric and locally emission-free driving with the unrestricted practicality of a conventional gasoline engine. During braking and deceleration, the electric motor acts as a generator, converting kinetic energy into electrical energy and storing it in the high-voltage lithium-ion battery. CO2 emissions in the combined WLTP cycle are 121 g/km (values for front-wheel drive version). Purely electric in the residential area at home, in hybrid mode with the support of the 75 kW (102 hp) gasoline engine over country roads and highways, and finally electric and emission-free again in the city and in the parking lot - in scenarios like these, the Vitara full hybrid combines the advantages of purely electric and locally emission-free driving with the unrestricted practicality of a conventional gasoline engine in everyday driving. The driver himself can influence the frequency of electric driving. The two driving modes Standard and Eco are available for this purpose. While in Standard mode the interaction of the combustion engine and electric motor ensures lively power delivery and powerful acceleration, the focus in Eco mode is on fuel-efficient driving with high electric driving shares.
