The new all-electric Lexus RZ 450e - Efficient and compact E-Axle drive

Source: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

The new E-Axle drive technology is used in the RZ for the first time - on the front and rear axles. This is a compact, modular component consisting of an electric motor, a transmission and a control unit and is located between the driven wheels. The two e-axles work with DIRECT4 all-wheel drive control to adapt traction and power distribution to the prevailing driving conditions. The E-Axle technology operates quietly, efficiently and precisely. The front electric motor produces 150 kW, the rear 80 kW, for a total output of 230 kW. Electricity consumption is between 16.8 and 18.7 kWh per 100 km (WLTP, combined), depending on wheel size and vehicle specification. Both motors offer high power density thanks to an optimized rotor and stator design. Their compact dimensions also contribute to the vehicle's packaging and help create more space in the interior as well as in the trunk while accommodating the EV battery.
