The first Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe

The new Grand Cherokee 4xe is the first Grand Cherokee with plug-in hybrid electric drive (PHEV). With it, the Jeep brand continues its ongoing growth toward the electrification mission of "Zero Emission Freedom." The 4xe plug-in hybrid electric vehicle technology enhances the fun, freedom and adventure for which the Jeep brand is known, while delivering performance, fuel economy and greater environmental responsibility: up to 48 kilometers of electric range on the combined WLTP driving cycle and 51 kilometers on the city cycle 279 kW (380 hp) of power and 637 newton meters of torque 4x4 systems Quadra Trac II or Quadra Drive II with two-stage transfer case and off-road reduction ratio of 2.72 Total creep reduction ratio of 47.4 : 1 2. 320 kilogram maximum towing capacity All versions of the new Grand Cherokee 4xe ride on the new plug-in hybrid powertrain, which combines two electric motors, a 400-volt battery pack, a two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine and a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission for maximum efficiency and performance. The efficient 2.0 T-GDI turbocharged gasoline engine is part of Stellantis' Global Medium Engine family. The high-tech, direct-injection engine uses a low-inertia twin-scroll turbocharger mounted directly on the cylinder head. Efficiency is increased by electric power steering and an electrically driven air-conditioning compressor, which reduce the load on the engine.
