The new Mercedes-AMG GT 53 4MATIC+ - Even more comfort and sportiness thanks to the new adjustable damping with two valves

The newly tuned AMG RIDE CONTROL+ suspension continues to be based on multi-chamber air suspension combined with adaptive, electronically controlled adjustable damping. This damping system is completely new: for the first time, two so-called pressure relief valves are used. With the aid of these continuously variable control valves, which are located outside the damper, the damping force can be adapted even more precisely to different driving conditions and the driving programs: One valve controls the rebound damping, i.e. the force generated when the wheel rebounds, and the other controls the compression damping when the wheel compresses. The rebound and compression damping are controlled independently of each other. This technology makes it possible to increase comfort on the one hand, but also to make the driving dynamics even sportier on the other. As a result, the passengers are almost completely shielded from road imperfections. The body nevertheless remains stabilized in the best possible way.
