Stricter subsidy guidelines for plug-in hybrid vehicles will apply in Germany from January 1, 2022. With SUPERB iV, OCTAVIA iV and OCTAVIA RS iV, ŠKODA offers three different plug-in hybrid variants. They already meet the requirements of the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) for the innovation premium, which will come into effect in 2022. Buyers benefit from up to 6,750 euros when they purchase a ŠKODA plug-in hybrid model. As a prerequisite for the federal innovation premium, which has been extended until 2025, plug-in hybrid vehicles must be able to cover at least 60 kilometers in purely electric mode according to the WLTP cycle from next year or must emit a maximum of 50 grams of CO2 per kilometer. All three available plug-in hybrid models - the mid-range SUPERB iV, the compact OCTAVIA iV and the particularly sporty OCTAVIA RS iV - already meet at least one of the two requirements. Buyers are thus already benefiting from savings of up to €6,750, and will continue to do so in the future. With a net list price of less than €40,000, all variants of the OCTAVIA iV and OCTAVIA RS iV - sedan and station wagon - qualify for the innovation premium. SUPERB iV and SUPERB COMBI iV in the Ambition and Style equipment lines also receive the maximum subsidy. This is made up as follows: For a so-called 'externally chargeable hybrid electric vehicle' such as SUPERB iV and OCTAVIA iV, the state pays a premium of 4,500 euros. ŠKODA contributes a further 2,250 euros net. The total environmental bonus is therefore up to 6,750 euros. ŠKODA waives the manufacturer's share of the bonus directly at the time of purchase. The 4,500 euros in federal subsidies can be applied for at the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA).
