New Toyota Corolla - hybrid battery

Both powertrains are combined with a new lithium-ion hybrid battery. Toyota was able to minimize the size and weight (minus 14 percent) of the battery while increasing power by 14 percent. Thanks to the compact dimensions, the battery can be completely accommodated under the rear seats - the cargo area remains untouched and offers the usual generous space. Other improvements include a new, quieter cooling system and an extended service life. The new Corolla can also control the charging and discharging of the battery depending on the driving situation. For better fuel efficiency, the system successively collects data while driving: If the vehicle approaches a point where the driver normally always brakes, the multi-information display (see Eco Driving) recommends that the driver take his or her foot off and increases engine braking - maximizing brake energy recovery.
