Volkswagen ID.5 and ID.5 GTX - Highest Efficiency

Source: AutoMotoTV (Glomex)

The ID.5 Pro accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 10.4 seconds, the top speed is 160 km/h (governed). Its average consumption is only 16.2 kWh per 100 km, which corresponds to a predicted range of up to 520 km (WLTP5). For the ID.5 Pro Performance, the key data are: 8.4 seconds for the standard sprint, 160 km/h top speed, 16.2 kWh consumption per 100 km and up to 520 km predicted range (WLTP5). ID.5 GTX specs: 6.3 seconds for the standard sprint, 180 km/h top speed, 17.1 kWh combined consumption per 100 km4 and up to 490 km predicted range (WLTP4). With all ID.5 engines, recuperation is an important factor for efficient driving. The driver uses the rocker switch behind the steering wheel to decide whether the car should roll freely or recover energy when he or she releases the right pedal. If drive mode D (Drive) is engaged, the ID.5 switches to sailing in most situations, with the electric motors turning along with virtually no load. Driving mode B (Brake), on the other hand, generally activates thrust recuperation: The electric motors briefly work as generators and feed electricity back into the battery. If the driver wishes, the Eco Assistant system manages sailing and recuperation as soon as the car approaches a zone that requires a lower speed. It uses navigation data, among other things, to do this.
