The new Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ - AMG-specific electric motors for perfectly balanced driving performance

The AMG-specific electric motors on the front and rear axles are permanently excited synchronous machines (PSM). The consistent performance characteristics are already evident here from the power and torque values. In addition, the e-machines from Mercedes-AMG are characterized by an optimum balance of power increase, efficiency and noise comfort. This is ensured, among other things, by new windings, stronger currents and new control via inverter with specially developed software. This enables higher engine speeds and thus more power, setting standards above all during acceleration and at top speed. The electric motor on the rear axle of the EQS 53 4MATIC+ is particularly powerful. A key reason for this is the six-phase design, based on two windings with three phases each. The stators with a pull-in winding ensure a particularly strong magnetic field.
