The most important feature of the Factory 56 is maximum flexibility. All assembly steps for vehicles with different body styles and drive systems can be performed on a single level in the Factory 56 - from conventional to fully electric drives. First of all, the new generation of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan and long-wheelbase version rolls off the assembly line in the Factory 56. Later on, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class and the EQS, the first fully electric member of the new S-Class family, will be produced here on the same line with full flexibility. The hall is designed to be 100 percent flexible, so that in the future all Mercedes-Benz model series can be integrated into the current production process in the shortest possible time, depending on demand - from compact cars to SUVs. The assembly system of the future creates a more flexible structure for the entire production. Two so-called TecLines serve to avoid fixed points in assembly, which increases the flexibility of the entire hall. They bundle all complex system technologies in one place. This makes it even easier to carry out conversion work in the rest of the hall, for example when new models are integrated. In the TecLines, the classic assembly line is replaced by driverless transport systems. To integrate a new product and the associated new plant technology, only the route of the automated guided vehicle (AGV) needs to be changed. In total, more than 400 AGVs are in use at Factory 56".

Opel has revealed the all-new, sixth generation of the Astra. The success story of Opel's bestseller began 30 years ago with the descendant of the legendary Kadett. With the all-new Astra, the German manufacturer is now opening the next chapter: for the first time, the compact class model is available with electric drive. Opel will offer the new Astra in two performance levels as a plug-in hybrid. In addition, there are versions with highly efficient petrol and diesel engines in combination with friction-optimised six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmissions. The new Opel Astra is also a design statement for the brand. Dynamic as never before, with sheer, taut surfaces, detoxed of superfluous elements and with the new brand face – the Opel Vizor. With the next compact class generation, Opel shows that the Astra is ready to define a new era. The new Opel Astra will launch this year as a sporty five-door with a low-slung look and yet more space than its predecessor. With a length of 4,374 millimetres and width of 1,860 mm, it hits the sweet-spot of the compact sector. Thanks to the especially short front overhang, the new Astra is only 4.0 mm longer than the previous model, despite the considerably increased wheelbase of 2,675 mm (+13 mm). Notwithstanding the muscular, confident stance, the new Astra’s practical boot with adjustable floor still offers the driver and four passengers 422 litres of luggage volume.
With the new Jogger, Dacia is expanding its model range to include a versatile family vehicle with up to seven seats. The name stands for the authentic character and the outdoor spirit of the brand. Dacia will offer the Jogger either as a five- or seven-seater. With its generous amount of space, its variable concept and its pragmatic detailed solutions, the variable model qualifies as a family vehicle for everyday use and leisure. The short and concise name of the new Dacia Jogger is easy to pronounce and universally understandable. It stands for dynamism and embodies the Dacia outdoor spirit. The suffix "-er" as in the successful Duster SUV model underlines the robust character and versatility in daily use for the whole family.
