The new Volkswagen ID. Buzz and the ID. Buzz Cargo - electric drive - agile, powerful and efficient

Source: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

The ID. Buzz and ID. Buzz Cargo are technically based on the Volkswagen Group's modular e-drive system (MEB). The MEB system in the ID. Buzz consists of the electric motor (permanent magnet synchronous machine, PSM for short), power electronics, an automatic 1-speed transmission, the twelve modules of the space-saving lithium-ion high-voltage battery located in the floor of the vehicle, and various additional units integrated in the front of the vehicle. The electric motor of the ID. Buzz is integrated into the driven rear axle and develops an output of 150 kW (204 hp). One of the features of the virtually silent e-motor is the fact that it provides its maximum torque of 310 Nm from a standstill. And that ensures very good starting performance. The lithium-ion high-voltage battery is charged via a connection in the rear on the passenger side. If this is done at home and at work at the wallbox or on the road at public charging points with an AC charging power of 11 kW, the battery is fully recharged with new power in 07:30 hours (0 to 100 percent).
