In both models, the wheels are driven exclusively by electric motors. They distribute torque to the front and rear axles to maximize tire grip depending on road conditions and situations. The brakes are controlled individually for each of the four wheels. This precise control keeps the vehicle on course at all times - regardless of whether the road is wet, slippery, covered with wet leaves or snow and ice. The key lies in the balanced distribution of power, which can be adjusted in a 10,000th of a second, much faster than with conventional mechanical all-wheel drive systems. In curves, the system ensures safe and precise following of the intended line with minimal steering corrections, while typical reactions such as understeer are suppressed. An additional benefit of the e-4ORCE drive is the high level of ride comfort for all passengers: thanks to the strong regenerative braking effect, there is minimal pitching during deceleration. Compared with individual motors, the two engines also enable greater brake energy recovery and thus contribute to greater efficiency.
