That's where the 911 GT3 can play its trump cards to the full. During the final tuning work, it circled the Nürburgring's Nordschleife, traditionally the benchmark for all sports cars at Porsche, more than 17 seconds faster than its predecessor. Development driver Lars Kern needed just 6:59.927 minutes for a lap of the complete 20.8 kilometers. The 911 GT3 completed the shorter 20.6-kilometer variant, which had previously served as a benchmark, in 6:55.2 minutes. In the process, the new model consistently delivered its performance over several laps on the optionally available Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires in the expert hands of Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister. For Bergmeister, it is "by far the best production car" that the experienced professional driver has ever driven in the "Green Hell".
