Absa Cape Epic 2021 - the mountain bike elite explores the Witzenberg Valley on the 2nd stage

Source: World of Freesports (Glomex)

The Witzenberg Valley is undoubtedly one of the most challenging mountain bike regions, which is why the 2nd stage of the Absa Cape Epic is called the king stage. Jordan Sarrou (FRA) & Matt Beers (RSA) (NinetyOne-songo-Specialized) took a convincing win and extended their overall lead over Andreas Seewald (GER) & Martin Stosek (CZE) (Canyon Northwave MTB) to 2:13 minutes. In the women's race, the four strongest teams stayed mostly together until finally Sina Frei (SUI) & Laura Stigger (AUT) (NinetyOne-songo-Specialized) pulled away on the final climb to take home what was ultimately a comfortable win.
