The Schalke coach's chair has resembled an ejector seat for years. After the first era of Huub Stevens from 1996 to 2002, including interim solutions with Christian Gross, 25 coaches took their seats on the royal blue bench, some more than once. Since summer 2009, Gross has been number 15, but the Swiss also failed early on.
