The new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé - Clear plus in dynamics and efficiency

With a performance car at the top of the model range, the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé underscores its significantly enhanced sportiness. The BMW M440i xDrive Gran Coupé is powered by a 275 kW/374 hp straight-six petrol engine. The BMW 430i Gran Coupé uses a new four-cylinder gasoline engine that generates 180 kW/245 hp and whose emissions performance is further optimized by an exhaust manifold integrated into the cylinder head. The four-cylinder gasoline engine in the BMW 420i Gran Coupé has a maximum output of 135 kW/184 hp. A 140 kW 190 hp four-cylinder diesel engine powers the BMW 420d Gran Coupé and BMW 420d xDrive Gran Coupé models. In the BMW M440i xDrive Gran Coupé and in the diesel engine variants, mild hybrid technology provides a further boost to dynamics and efficiency. The 48-volt starter generator provides an additional 8 kW/11 hp during start-up and acceleration. An additional battery optimizes the possibilities for recovering and storing braking energy. As standard, all engines are combined with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission. The optional 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission (standard in the BMW M440i xDrive Gran Coupé) offers not only even greater shift dynamics and shift paddles on the steering wheel but also a sprint function. By influencing the drive and gearshift characteristics accordingly, it ensures maximum dynamics during intermediate sprints and overtaking maneuvers.
