The BMW Group pays particular attention to reducing CO2 emissions. A further goal was therefore announced at the start of production of the BMW i4: Within the next few years, the transport logistics for the Munich plant should be implemented locally emission-free. The focus is on an increasing rail quota as well as the use of battery-electric trucks. For the delivery of parts, more than 750 truck deliveries are required every day. In the future, these journeys in urban areas are to be made emission-free with e-trucks. Around half of the vehicles produced in Munich are already transported away by rail. This share is to be increased gradually. Basically, it is planned to implement emission-free transport logistics in the city of Munich and to continue to significantly reduce CO2 emissions in the wider radius as well as in intercontinental traffic. Peter Weber, Head of the BMW Group Plant in Munich: “We are aware that we have a special responsibility with our urban production. With the project initiated for the main plant to reduce CO2 emissions, we are making an important contribution to the environment and to our immediate surroundings in the neighborhood. "
