The BMW i4 - new sustainability goal - locally emission-free transport logistics

The BMW Group pays particular attention to reducing CO2 emissions. A further goal was therefore announced at the start of production of the BMW i4: Within the next few years, the transport logistics for the Munich plant should be implemented locally emission-free. The focus is on an increasing rail quota as well as the use of battery-electric trucks. For the delivery of parts, more than 750 truck deliveries are required every day. In the future, these journeys in urban areas are to be made emission-free with e-trucks. Around half of the vehicles produced in Munich are already transported away by rail. This share is to be increased gradually. Basically, it is planned to implement emission-free transport logistics in the city of Munich and to continue to significantly reduce CO2 emissions in the wider radius as well as in intercontinental traffic.
