A green, rural route through the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast with steep hills, tight hairpin bends and breathtaking views. In his long racing career, Mark Webber has spent less time in his native Australia than he would have liked. But outside of the season, the former Porsche works driver and busy Formula 1 expert was able to celebrate a reunion with a few beautiful local roads - a lap over the picturesque high hills along the Sunshine Coast in Queensland is one of his favorite routes. “I drive this route eight times a year, through the Queensland hinterland,” says Webber. “I leave Noosa on State Route 12 and drive west to a town called Eumundi. Here you cross the M1 motorway and turn right onto 22, the Eumundi-Kenilworth road. From there it goes west for about 30 minutes until you reach some spectacular, high-altitude sections of the route that are around 500 to 600 meters above sea level. Here the temperature drops quickly and there are some tight hairpin bends and sections that are demanding for driving. "
