The Mercedes-Benz EQB - Relaxed, uncomplicated travel with transparency and planning security

Via Mercedes me Charge, Mercedes EQ customers can conveniently access charging stations from various providers and benefit from an integrated payment function with simple billing. With Mercedes me Charge, customers can charge ecologically at more than 250,000 public charging points across Europe, and Mercedes-Benz ensures subsequent compensation through green electricity. One year of Mercedes me Charge is included with the EQB. Green electricity, i.e. electricity from renewable sources, is a significant factor in avoiding CO2 emissions in the life cycle of an electric car. This is because around 50 percent of the CO2 footprint of a battery-electric vehicle is generated in the use phase at the current EU electricity mix, consequently due to charging processes that involve CO2. This is how Green Charging works: to promote the use of electricity from renewable sources, Mercedes-Benz uses guarantees of origin to green the charging process, the quality of which is defined by a green electricity label. This ensures that an equivalent amount of electricity from renewable sources is fed into the power grid for charging electric vehicles. Charged energy quantities are thus compensated by green electricity after the actual charging process and, in addition, incentives are created to invest in renewable energy plants.
