Three-dimensionally modeled surfaces, triangular shapes and diagonal lines characterize the striking front view of the new BMW 2 Series Coupé. Wide flared wheel arches and a powerfully curved powerdome in the center of the hood provide clear clues to its dynamic driving characteristics. The BMW kidney is horizontally aligned. Instead of the classic kidney bars, it features vertically arranged air vents that open electrically when the engine's cooling requirements increase. The standard full-LED headlights are positioned far to the outside. In keeping with the legendary models of the BMW 02 series, they are designed as single round headlights. Adaptive LED headlights with BMW Selective Beam glare-free high-beam assist are offered as an option. They are also available as M lights Shadow Line with darkened inserts.

Polestar, the Swedish electric performance car company, has announced that the world premiere of its next car, the Polestar 3 electric performance SUV, will be in October 2022. Polestar 3 is the company’s first SUV. The launch of the car marks Polestar’s entrance into one of the highest margin and growth segments in the automotive industry, particularly in the United States. Polestar 3 will, over time, offer autonomous highway piloting powered by the best-in-class LiDAR sensor from Luminar and centralized NVIDIA computing power. At launch, Polestar 3 will feature a dual-motor drivetrain and a large battery, with a range target of over 600 km (WLTP). The confirmation of the world premiere comes with a new film and a first undisguised image of the car. Customers can expect to order Polestar 3 in initial launch markets from the day of the premiere. Production is expected to begin in early 2023, and Polestar 3 will be manufactured in the United States and China.

Following the successful launch of the KUSHAQ SUV, the Czech carmaker is expanding its range with a saloon in the A0 segment. Just like the KUSHAQ, the SLAVIA is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform – a variant of Volkswagen Group’s modular transverse matrix specially adapted by ŠKODA AUTO for India. The platform enables the saloon to be equipped with an extensive range of safety features, advanced infotainment systems and one of two powerful yet efficient TSI engines with an output of 85 kW (115 PS) or 110 kW (150 PS). The majority of the development work was carried out at the technology centre in Pune. The name ‘SLAVIA’ builds a bridge between India and the Czech Republic and pays homage to the company’s foundering fathers Václav Laurin and Václav Klement. In 1896, they started to design and sell their own bicycles in Mladá Boleslav under the name SLAVIA; their first motorcycles followed in 1899. Even at the beginning of the 20th century, the name SLAVIA stood for qualities such as reliability, affordability and inventiveness – attributes that still characterise ŠKODA’s brand philosophy today.
