A bright blue sky greets Benny Leuchter in Wolfsburg on this mild Monday shortly before the Wörthersee GTI fan meeting originally scheduled for May. The gray parking deck right next to the plant and within sight of Wolfsburg Castle is alive today with a piece of Volkswagen history. Eight special GTI models from all Golf generations are gathered here - from the Golf 1 GTI Pirelli to the latest member of the GTI family: the Golf GTI "Clubsport 45" based on the eighth Golf generation. When the racing driver and Volkswagen test and development driver arrives, he is thrilled by the Golf GTI Clubsport 45: "It looks mega, the color really suits it. The rear wing shows off well with its high-gloss black accents," says Leuchter. "The oval exhaust pipes are super framed, and what a great size they are. A tick I'd definitely put on the upcharge list!"

Britain’s original Formula 1 team, British Racing Motors (BRM), is celebrating its 70th anniversary with the construction of three ‘new’ 16-cylinder race cars – the iconic and awe-inspiring Type 15 Mk1 BRM V16, which is considered by many fans to be the finest sounding racing car in the history of the sport. The first car, which is expected to be delivered next year, will go to the Owen family and will fulfill a long-held ambition of one of the family’s oldest surviving members - to see and hear this iconic British racing car in action once again. John Owen, now 81, was just ten years old when he first heard the unique wail of the V16 engine, which developed 600 horsepower thanks to its ability to spin at an incredible 12,000rpm – far beyond the range of many road and race cars 60 years later. Presales of two models of the gran turismo with fully electric drive will start simultaneously in February 2021: the e-tron GT quattro and the RS e-tron GT. Both models are powerful, fast, and dynamic, and both have zero local emissions. The sum of these qualities adds up to a strong character that reinterprets the idea of the gran turismo. The exterior of the Audi e-tron GT is a dynamic work of art. Each surface and each line is harmonious, from the headlights, which are available with Audi laser light upon request, to the large diffuser at the rear. In combination, the details create a sculpture that looks like it was shaped by the wind. The body line is extremely aerodynamic, and the drag coefficient is just 0.24. The interior also corresponds to that of a classic gran turismo: The driver and front passenger seats are installed in a sporty low position and separated by a wide center console, and the rear seats provide sufficient space even for adults. The progressive elegance of the interior design emphasizes the car’s character.
