Renault offers the electric Megane E-TECH Electric in two output levels with 96 kW/131 hp and 160 kW/218 hp. The drive battery is also available in two capacity levels: with 40 kWh for a range of up to 300 kilometers and with 60 kWh for a range of up to 470 kilometers, each in the WLTP test cycle. At just 11.0 centimeters high, it is the slimmest battery on the market. The electric motors of the Megane E-TECH Electric are separately excited three-phase synchronous motors. The advantages are the large performance range and the high efficiency. In addition, separately excited motors do not require rare earth metals for magnets, which reduces the environmental impact of production. A special feature of the Megane E-TECH Electric's power units is the liquid cooling. Advantage: The higher cooling capacity compared to air cooling enables more efficient operation and higher engine performance. This in turn allows the motors to be dimensioned more compactly. Thanks to their optimized design, the Renault model's electric motors weigh just 145 kilograms including the gearbox, making them ten percent lighter than their counterparts in the Renault ZOE sister model
