Just in time for the 45th anniversary, the festival area is now being renovated and modernized in several phases. An essential point is the adaptation of the infrastructure. In addition to a series of structural measures, new sanitary facilities in the VIP area and sound and lighting equipment for the Second Stage, the focus is on sustainability. Thus, the operators of the Wiesen Festivals, the siblings Juliane and Franz-Peter Bogner, are taking numerous steps to improve the ecological footprint of the events at the Wiesen festival site under the motto "Green Wiesen". "On a national and international level, we would like to further expand our pioneering role and be officially certified as a Green Location with the Austrian Ecolabel. This will enable us to meet the requirements of our visitors and event organizers, for whom an environmentally conscious and sustainable cultural experience is becoming increasingly important," say the Bogners. The Province of Burgenland is supporting the "relaunch" of the Wiesen concert venue with funds from the Additionality Program and a project grant through the Department of Culture. After completion of the renovation and modernization measures, a high-quality venue with a capacity of up to 8,000 visitors will then be available.
