The so-called "Naschmarkt parking lot" between Kettenbrückengasse and Rüdigerhof in Vienna-Mariahilf is not only an unattractive asphalt desert, but in summer with about 12,000 m² one of the largest heat islands in the city and thus also a major problem for the urban climate. This heat hotspot is now to be defused, greened and cooled.
