How to eat seasonally this winter

Source: VIDEOELEPHANT (Glomex)

Spring and summer aren't the only times to buy seasonal produce. There's plenty of delicious fruit and vegetables in the colder months too. The easiest way to eat seasonally is to buy your food at a local market or grocery store. Locally grown food not only tastes great, it's also better for the environment. Squashes such as acorn, butternut and kabocha squash are winter staples that can be used in a variety of dishes. Potatoes are available all year round and can be prepared in many different ways, such as roasted, mashed or baked. Brassica vegetables, such as cauliflower, cabbage and Brussels sprouts, are also available in winter. They can be roasted or used in a stir-fry or salad.
