Single-family house in Wangen is in flames - 1 million euros in damage

On Thursday evening around 8 pm, a single-family house with attached barn in Wangen/Ungerhaus caught fire. The fire destroyed the house almost completely. As reported by the police, the four people in the house were able to escape into the open air before the fire department arrived. The adjacent highway 325 had to be closed because of the strong smoke development and the extinguishing work until about 23.50 o'clock fully. The damage to property is estimated at about one million euros. The voluntary fire department from Wangen and Weingarten was on site with 12 vehicles and 88 firefighters. Investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing.
