Instead of relying on aluminum as they did more than 50 years ago, however, they opted for carbon fiber and special composite materials. The aerodynamics of the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA are designed to generate high contact pressure. During the development, the engineers Alfa Romeo cooperated with Sauber Engineering, whose engineers can build on know-how from Formula 1. The results are, for example, specific side skirts and the rear spoiler as well as a four-way adjustable rear wing on the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm and the active front splitter that can be adjusted by 40 millimeters when driving on the racetrack.
