E-GMP - Hyundai Motor Group prepares for the electric drive era with an exclusive new platform for battery electric vehicles
Under the acronym E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform), Hyundai Motor Group is introducing its first modular platform specifically designed for next-generation battery electric models. The E-GMP-based battery electric vehicles (BEVs) achieve over 500 km of range (WLTP). Charging the battery to 80% of capacity is done with fast charging in 18 minutes. A high-performance E-GMP-based model will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3.5 s and reach up to 260 km/h. Platform components optimize driving dynamics and safety while maximizing interior space The integrated electric system offers the world's first application of multi-charging (400V and 800 V), as well as a bi-directional function with external use of battery power Standardization and modularity of the platform enable rapid and flexible adaptation to customer needs By 2025, Hyundai Motor Group plans to introduce 23 battery electric models and sell 1 million battery electric vehicles (BEVs) worldwide.
