With the all-new Aygo X, Toyota is introducing an exceptional crossover vehicle for the A segment. Developed, designed and built in Europe, it precisely meets the wishes and needs of local customers from urban centers and the surrounding area: The new Aygo X is compact and extremely manoeuvrable, combines advanced technologies with economically low operating costs and arouses emotions. The latest compact model in the Toyota product family is based on the successful GA-B platform. As a key element of the Toyota Global New Architecture (TNGA), it celebrated its world premiere with the current Yaris generation - the Car of the Year 2021 in Europe - and also provides the foundation for the Yaris Cross. In order for the new Aygo X to establish itself as the best offer in its class, Toyota researched the contemporary demands on a city vehicle at an early stage through detailed market research. The result: European customers expect a car with a modern design that combines a strong appearance with small external dimensions.
The driver team of the e-CUPRA ABT XE1 has been determined
It is a novelty in history: In the Extreme E racing series, nine international teams around the world in five remote regions (arctic, desert, rainforest, glacier and coast) are in fully electric Race cars against each other. The driver duo Mattias Ekström and Claudia Hürtgen, who have just completed the last test drive before the start of the championship, will start for ABT CUPRA XE. The vehicle is equipped with a 53 kWh battery, which is installed behind the cockpit to ensure optimal weight distribution, explains Xavi Serra, Head of Technical Development at CUPRA Racing. According to Serra, the length of the battery will be different depending on the terrain
The thermal management system aims to get the battery up to the ideal temperature range of around 30 degrees Celsius quickly after it is started and to keep it there until the end of the journey. This ensures that its full power – and therefore the power of the entire drive system – is available after a short time even in extremely cold conditions. Thanks to the stable thermal conditions, the driver can also call on it repeatedly or charge the battery at an HPC charging terminal with high output. The sophisticated thermal management system also gives the battery a long life cycle – Audi guarantees that it will still have at least 70 percent capacity after eight years of operation or after 160,000 kilometers.
