The design of the ID.4 GTX underscores its extraordinary character, combining driving fun with a robust look. The familiar light strip has been combined with powerful, dynamic elements – in particular, the three honeycomb elements that form the daytime running lights. They convey the vehicle’s sporty character even when it is stationary and, at the same time, establish a connection to the Golf GTI. Alongside the newly designed bumpers, the eye-catching elements at the rear include the 3D LED tail light cluster with brake lights that form an X.
The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class - The light - with innovative digital technology both inside and out
DIGITAL LIGHT is available as an optional extra for the first time in large-scale production at Mercedes-Benz. It enables completely new assistance functions: Warning of detected road works by projection of an excavator symbol on the roadway Warning and marking by a spotlight on detected pedestrians at the edge of the roadway Warning of traffic lights, stop signs or entry prohibition by projection of a warning symbol on the roadway Support on narrowed roadways (road works) by projection of guide markings on the roadway DIGITAL LIGHT has a light module in each headlamp with three extremely powerful LEDs, whose light is refracted and directed by means of 1.3 million micro mirrors. The resolution per vehicle is therefore over 2.6 million pixels. This enables a precise light distribution. The high beam assistant is thus more than 100 times more accurate than the 84-pixel light when blanking oncoming traffic or traffic signs. The light/dark limits and the light distribution of all other adaptive lighting functions are also displayed with significantly improved precision, which optimizes illumination in fog light, highway light or city light, for example.
With the new R 18 Transcontinental, BMW Motorrad is adding a Grand American Tourer to the R 18 family as well as the R 18 B "Bagger", which is particularly popular in the USA. As with the previous R 18 models, the new R 18 Transcontinental and R 18 B combine the thrilling power of the "Big Boxer" with a classic chassis concept based on historical models, exclusive equipment and a stylish design. This makes the R 18 Transcontinental ideal for travelling and long-distance rides in American riding style - both for riding solo and with a pillion and luggage. The R 18 B, on the other hand, is designed as a "rider’s machine" delivering emotional driving pleasure and ideal for cool touring and cruising. Special features of the new R 18 Transcontinental include: Front fairing with high wind shield, wind deflector and flaps. Cockpit with four analogue round instruments and 10.25 inch TFT colour display, additional headlamp, Marshall sound system, engine protection bars, cases, top case, seat heating, chrome trim and an engine in Silver metallic. In contrast, the new R 18 B does without a top case and, in the style of a "bagger", offers a low windshield, a slimmer seat and a matt black metallic engine among other things.
A number of new technologies optimize the precision and control of the chassis in a wide variety of weather and road conditions. The standard electronic damper control (Electronic Control Suspension, ECS) in the GT-line version increases comfort and safety thanks to the continuous damping control. The system reacts to body movements and steering inputs and changes the damping behavior at lightning speed in order to counteract the vehicle's diving, pitching and rolling movements when cornering. It also adjusts the damping force in the case of obstacles in order to cope with them as comfortably as possible and to reduce the influence of post-vibrations on the wheels. A premiere for the Sportage is the “All-Terrain-Mode”, which will be available for the plug-in hybrid version with all-wheel drive. The system offers intelligent support when driving off-road or on snow by automatically optimizing the vehicle settings depending on the selected mode and thus helping the SUV to achieve maximum traction on muddy, sandy or snowy surfaces.
