State of emergency in Italy: Strongest volcanic eruption in Sicily for decades

Source: Extremwetter TV (Glomex)

Etna in Sicily erupted in the night to Monday for the 13th time in a row. It was the strongest eruption of the eruption series since mid-February and at the same time one of the strongest in recent decades. Already on Friday, a state of emergency was declared in the surrounding communities, as the ash and rock rain kept falling over the villages to the east. People and communities no longer know where to put the ash, which is covering and damaging roads, roofs, cars, water systems, etc. The whirled-up volcanic dust is also extremely harmful to health.
