Again and again we hear about new scams. The classic: victims are more often fooled by relatives into believing that they are in an emergency situation in order to obtain their assets. In Germany, there were around 795,000 recorded cases of fraud in 2021. In Middle Franconia, too, a young woman has now once again become a victim of telephone fraud. Her account at a German bank was affected. For the protection of all involved, the name of the victim has been changed. The victim, we call her Mara, became a victim of a fraud scam just under 3 weeks ago. The 33-year-old was debited a total of 5,000 euros from her account. It all started with a call from a supposed bank employee demanding TAN numbers because of a fake security update. Mara gave these to the perpetrator through
