The redesigned steering wheel also contributes to the exclusive driving experience. The standard version has two spokes and a steering wheel rim that is flattened at the bottom. Precise control panels with haptic feedback facilitate interaction while driving. In the BMW i5 M60 xDrive and in conjunction with the M sports package, the optimized functionality of the M leather steering wheel is combined with a classic three-spoke design. Contrasting stitching in the BMW M GmbH colors and a red center marker for the steering wheel of the Performance model provide additional accents for sportiness. A heating function is available as an optional extra for all steering wheel variants. The control panel on the center console has also been redesigned. The iDrive Controller, the new gear selector, the start/stop button, the My Modes buttons, the volume control for the audio system and buttons for controlling other vehicle functions are clearly arranged there. With the CraftedClarity option, crystal glass applications for selected controls add a luxurious touch. In the front area of the center console, there is space for a wireless charging shelf for inductive charging of a suitable cell phone and another shelf.

For those who find a conventional estate car less than suitable off-road, and an SUV too high-legged, Mercedes-Benz now offers an all-rounder as an alternative in the C-Class segment: the C-Class All-Terrain. Following the introduction of the successful All-Terrain concept with the E-Class in spring 2017, the C-Class is now also launching as a second multi-talent with a striking look and versatile capabilities. With around 40 millimetres more ground clearance than the conventional C-Class Estate, 4MATIC all-wheel drive as standard and two off-road driving modes, the C-Class All-Terrain makes light work of light terrain such as unmetalled tracks with its larger wheels. The off-road design features include the distinctive radiator grille, the special bumpers, the simulated underride guard at the front and rear and the wheel arch linings in matt dark grey. In addition, the crossover model features many highlights of the just recently launched new C‑Class. These include efficient four-cylinder engines with 48-volt technology, the adaptive and intuitive MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system, and the latest generation of driving assistance systems. DIGITAL LIGHT (optional equipment) includes a special off-road light. The C-Class All-Terrain will celebrate its world premiere at the International Motor Show in Munich in September, and will reach European dealers later this year.

The all-new BMW M5 CS Interior Design

The exceptional driving experience on board the BMW M5 CS can be enjoyed by four people – the driver and front passenger in M Carbon seats and two other passengers in the individual rear seats. The black Merino leather covers (fine-grain for the front seats) also feature eye-catching contrasting panels and decorative stitching in Mugello Red. The integral head restraints – with illuminated M5 logos for the front seats – display an outline of the legendary Nürburgring circuit. The centre marker perforation with red background on the M Alcantara steering wheel is a classical racing car touch; the gearshift paddles are made from carbon fibre and the steering wheel spokes have Black Chrome trim. A fixed lightweight cover on the centre console replaces the usual armrest with opening lid. Its black Merino leather is complemented by red double stitching. The colour red is used again for the “CS” badging on the instrument panel and between the bucket-style seats in the rear.

The turbocharged three-litre flat-six in the new 911 GTS delivers 353 kW (480 PS). Maximum torque is 570 Nm, an increase of 20 Nm over its predecessor. Zero to 100 km/h takes just 3.3 seconds (911 Carrera 4 GTS: Fuel consumption combined (NEDC) 10.5 – 9.7 l/100 km, Fuel consumption combined (WLTP) 11.4 – 10.6 l/100 km, CO₂ emissions combined (NEDC) 240 – 222 g/km, CO₂ emissions combined (WLTP) 259 – 240 g/km) in the 911 Carrera 4 GTS Coupé with the eight-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK): three tenths faster than its predecessor. A seven-speed manual transmission with a particularly short throw is available for all 911 GTS models as an alternative to the PDK.
