Volkswagen Golf R "20 Years" - anniversary model of the Golf R can be ordered now

With its drive technology, the new Golf R "20 Years" tops everything that has hitherto come onto the market under the "Golf" label. The anniversary model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds; the top speed is electronically limited to 270 km/h. Right from the start, the Golf R “20 Years” underscores its exceptional position. The 245 kW (333 hp) of the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo unit are effectively staged. The emotional start, which can be selected by the driver, activates an initial speed overshoot of up to 2500 rpm and a particularly present drive acoustics, which further increase the anticipation of the typical "driving R-experience". When shifting up manually in gears S and S+, the 7-speed DSG provides noticeable feedback from the transmission and the drive train every time the right paddle is actuated. In addition, optimized engine tuning enables particularly spontaneous load changes. By preloading the turbocharger, it is kept at a constant speed when driving under partial load and can therefore develop its power more quickly during subsequent acceleration. The throttle valve, which is opened when overrun, also improves dynamics and performance on the road. When you take your foot off the accelerator and accelerate again, it enables the engine torque to build up more quickly and noticeably optimizes the response of the engine. In this way, the Golf R "20 Years" can be moved even more dynamically and with greater driving stability in sporty driving situations
