Audi urbansphere concept - Visible technology - the light

The front end features an innovative interpretation of the Audi brand face singleframe: It is shaped as a large-scale octagon. Even though the grille has lost its original function as an air intake for the e-drive, it still remains in view as an unmistakable signet of the brand. The digital light surface lies behind a lightly tinted, transparent visor that covers a large area of the front. The three-dimensional light structure itself is arranged in dynamically condensed pixel areas. The upper and lower edges of the single frame are still made of aluminum, while the vertical connections are designed by LEDs as part of the light surface. The entire surface of the single frame becomes a stage or canvas ("Audi Light Canvas") and can be used for communication - as a dynamic light display with a clear signal function in the direction of other road users to improve road safety. Driving and high beam are realized via light segments in the outer parts of the single frame, in the rear area there is an analogously functioning matrix LED surface.
