The EV6 is the first Kia based on the new electric platform E-GMP (Electric-Global Modular Platform) and marks the company's first step in the transition to the era of e-mobility under the new brand slogan "Movement that inspires". The new electric vehicle also marks the entry into the medium- to long-term strategy, according to which battery vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) and full hybrids (HEVs) will account for a total of 40 percent of Kia's total sales by 2030 and 1.6 million units of these environmentally friendly Kia models will then be sold each year. In the process, the brand aims to increase its BEV sales to around 900,000 units by 2030, making it one of the world's leading suppliers in this sector. The EV6 is the first of eleven new battery-powered models that Kia will introduce by 2026. Seven of these will be based on the E-GMP architecture, while four will be electric versions of existing models.
