The new Mercedes-Benz EQE - the charging functions

Source: AutoMotoTV (Glomex)

The EQE offers three charging programs - Standard, Home and Work. Parameters such as departure time, air conditioning and maximum charge level can be preset in these. The Home & Work charging programs can be activated location-based. This means that they are switched on automatically as soon as the vehicle is parked at a charging point in the positions stored in the system. The user is informed about this in MBUX. The EQE also has these intelligent charging functions: ECO Charging is a battery-saving program. Various measures reduce the load on the battery when charging and slow down the natural aging process of the battery. For example, the maximum charging power is reduced, a charging limit of 80 percent is adhered to and charging is delayed based on the set departure time. With the charging interruption function, the customer can specify periods of time in which the AC charging processes pause. In this way, for example, electricity costs can be saved. In Japan, the EQE will also enable bidirectional charging, i.e. charging in both directions. The local charging standard CHAdeMO (“Charge de Move”, German: movement through charge) supports bidirectional charging
