Victory For The Ford Mustang Mach-E At The First "Electric Vehicle Of The Year Award 2021" By "Car And Driver"

It came, it saw, and it electrified: The U.S. trade magazine "Car and Driver" has chosen the Ford Mustang Mach-E as the "Electric Car of the Year 2021." The 100 percent emission-free SUV is thus the first vehicle ever to be honored with the "Electric Vehicle of the Year Award". In the competition for the prize as best electric car of the year, the Mustang Mach-E beat out ten strong competitors. For the evaluation, the magazine subjected a total of eleven current electric vehicles to a demanding test. The three-week procedure also included a comparison tour of more than 1,600 kilometers, during which the experts intensively analyzed the everyday qualities of the e-cars. Without exception, the automotive test subjects were electric vehicles that had previously achieved top marks in tests conducted by "Car and Driver". For the first-ever "Electric Vehicle of the Year Award," the editors used the same criteria that apply to the prestigious "Car and Driver's 10 Best Awards" - and the Ford Mustang Mach-E met them with flying colors. In addition to exceptional driving pleasure, the criteria also include high value and outstanding practicality. Another deciding factor for winning is whether the vehicle in question does its job better than the competing models. Last but not least, the driving pleasure factor is also taken into account in the overall assessment.
