Sportiest Volkswagen Golf Variant with numerous R-specific elements

The powerful exterior of the new Golf R Variant is characterized by R-typical insignia such as the front bumper with splitter and side wings as air deflector elements. The distinctive widened sills in body color catch the eye in the side view. Completely new are the R-specific rear bumper with diffuser painted in high-gloss black and the sports exhaust system built to Volkswagen R specifications with two chrome-plated twin tailpipes. Three colors are available: the R-typical "Lapiz Blue Metallic" as well as "Pure White" and "Deep Black Pearl Effect". Like the compact Golf R, the Golf R Estate also features the newly developed 4MOTION all-wheel drive with R-Performance Torque Vectoring with wheel-selective torque control on the rear axle. A new rear-axle transmission distributes the drive force not only between the front and rear axles as required, but also between the rear wheels. The innovative drive system significantly enhances the agility of the new Golf R Estate, particularly when cornering. The all-wheel drive system is networked with other chassis systems such as the electronic differential locks (XDS) and the DCC adaptive chassis control system via a driving dynamics manager. The result: highly precise and neutral handling characteristics, optimum traction properties and outstanding agility. In short: maximum driving pleasure. The new Golf R Variant was finally tuned on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
