The new Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited 4xe combines the best of 4x4 and electric to secure its iconic status. More powerful, more efficient, more environmentally responsible and more technologically advanced than ever, the new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4xe is the ideal vehicle for everyday driving, both in town and off. Plug-in hybrid powertrain for locally emission-free, all-electric driving with a range of more than 50 kilometers on the WLTP city cycle. 4xe technology enables all-electric driving as well as a combined maximum output of 280 kW (380 hp) and peak torque of 637 Newton meters, offering unparalleled off-road performance with "Trail Rated" label. Significant improvement in driving performance with zero to 100 kilometers per hour acceleration in 6.5 seconds. The new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4xe can be fully charged in less than three hours. Advanced technologies on board include the Uconnect™ NAV system with 8.4-inch touchscreen and latest-generation driver assistance systems. The Wrangler Unlimited 4xe will be available in Sahara, Rubicon and 80th Anniversary trim levels from June.

Porsche is presenting a further performance-oriented plug-in hybrid model with the new Panamera 4S E-Hybrid. The intelligent combination of the 100 kW (136 PS) electric motor integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission and the 2.9-litre V6 biturbo engine with 324 kW (440 PS) generates a system output of 412 kW and a maximum system torque of 750 Nm. The performance figures are therefore very impressive: combined with the standard Sport Chrono Package, the sprint from 0 – 100 km/h is covered in 3.7 seconds. The top speed is 298 km/h. The gross battery capacity has been increased from 14.1 to 17.9 kWh compared with the previous hybrid models using optimised cells and the driving modes have been optimised for even more efficient energy utilisation. The first-ever BMW i7 in the acoustic climate test bench

The BMW i7 is being developed with the aim of combining hallmark driving pleasure with a level of comfort that is in a class of its own. One key factor here is the acoustic properties. The level of well-being in the interior of the purely electrically powered luxury sedan is largely determined by the degree to which disturbing noises can be kept away from the occupants. There are a variety of potential noise sources to be taken into account here, so near-production prototypes of the BMW i7 – and indeed all other model variants of the future BMW 7 Series – undergo an extensive programme as part of their acoustic testing. At the Research and Innovation Centre (FIZ) in Munich, test and development engineers check the full range of the vehicle’s sound emissions and immissions. Motor and rolling noise are analysed in detail, as are the aeroacoustics and vibration comfort, in order to fully determine the acoustic properties of the new luxury sedans. This also includes precise alignment of acoustic pedestrian protection and the motor sound emitted in the interior of the BMW i7 – the latter having been developed as part of BMW IconicSounds Electric, a collaborative venture between the BMW Group and Hollywood film music composer Hans Zimmer.
