The new generation BMW iDrive takes driver-vehicle interaction into the digital future, where numerous areas of life are becoming increasingly smarter. The reinterpretation of the control system creates the conditions for the vehicle to take an active role in interacting with its occupants, making it a digital, intelligent and proactive partner for every situation. This creates a natural dialogue with the aim of aligning all functions controlled via BMW iDrive precisely to the driver's needs and wishes in line with the situation. The basis for the unique user experience is laid with the new BMW Operating System 8, a new generation of displays, controls and software, as well as particularly powerful networking and data processing. The new iDrive is being rolled out successively in all vehicle classes. The technology will be used for the first time and before the end of this year in the BMW iX and subsequently in the BMW i4.
