Thanks to its high performance, the new Austral E-TECH full hybrid engine offers maximum driving pleasure combined with low fuel consumption and low CO2 emissions. Depending on the expansion stage, it delivers up to 146 kW / 200 hp. The Austral E-TECH Hybrid is based on the new 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine with turbocharger and 96 kW/130 hp and 205 Nm of torque. The gasoline engine is coupled with a 50 kW electric motor with 205 Nm, a lithium-ion battery with 1.7 kWh / 400 V and a 7-speed transmission. The drive system enables more powerful, linear starting, smooth acceleration when shifting gears, smooth transitions without torque drop and constant operation of the combustion engine in the optimal power range. Hybrid technology features high efficiency, excellent responsiveness and rapid recuperation during deceleration. The Austral E-TECH always starts in electric mode, switching automatically to the optimum drive mode in terms of power, acceleration and fuel consumption. Thanks to the high recuperation performance, users can cover up to 80 percent of all journeys in city traffic purely electrically. Fuel consumption is reduced by up to 40 percent compared with a gasoline-only model.
