It is the biggest rail project in Central Franconia this decade: the new construction of the 14-kilometer freight train line between Nuremberg and Eltersdorf. The central construction element is the freight train tunnel between Nuremberg Wholesale Market and Steinach. The main aim is to relieve rail traffic in the region. On Monday evening, the responsible team from Deutsche Bahn presented the current status of the ongoing planning.
