Breeding and breeding season: dogs must be kept on a lead in these federal states

Source: AGRARHEUTE (Glomex)

In spring, wild animals give birth to their offspring. Young hares, fawns and chicks of native ground breeders are particularly exposed to danger in the first few weeks of their lives, as they remain motionless when threatened and do not flee. For this reason, many German federal states require dogs to be kept on a lead during the breeding season, which begins on March 1 or April 1, depending on the federal state.
