SuperKite Brasil 2020 - Day 2: Dream conditions for the men, house challenge for the women

Source: World of Freesports (Glomex)

The athletes had a very early start on the second day, as the competition had to be scheduled according to the tides of the lagoon to ensure optimal competition conditions. First it was the men's turn and they were rewarded for getting up early with ideal conditions, shallow water and steady wind, so most competitors started on 11 to 13 meter kites. For the women, however, it was not so optimal. While they waited for the tide to return and fill the lagoon, the wind picked up and when it was time for the women to prepare for their runs, most riders were on 7 to 9 meter kites. The conditions were rough compared to the morning, so this was an additional challenge for the women's pre-runs.
