Nissan X-Trail Mountain Rescue masters extreme tasks

Source: AUTOMOTOTV (Glomex)

With the Nissan X-Trail Mountain Rescue, Nissan is demonstrating the strengths of its e-4ORCE all-wheel drive this winter: the technology on board this very special emergency vehicle is impressive even under the most difficult conditions. The Nissan X-Trail Mountain Rescue has been extensively modified for mountain rescue work and is equipped with snow chains, among other things, which replace the normal wheels. They provide safe traction on slippery snow slopes. The rear seats of the emergency vehicle have been removed to enable injured skiers to be transported to the nearest medical facility. A special roof rack provides space for a rescue stretcher and snow shovels. A siren, a light bar with flashing lights and powerful headlights have also been fitted to the roof of the X-Trail, as well as lights on the hood. The front and rear mudguards were widened to make room for the snow chains. At the front, the bumper has been optimized to accommodate a winch. There is a reinforced towing device on the front and rear bumpers. Running boards on the sides make access easier, as the modified X-Trail with snow chains is 23 centimetres higher than the road version with normal wheels.
