Also new on board the Passat is a 48V mild hybrid drive (eTSI with 110 kW / 150 hp), which converts kinetic energy into electrical energy and allows "sailing" without a combustion engine. Two 150 kW (204 hp) and 195 kW (265 hp) turbocharged gasoline engines (2.0 TSI) and three turbodiesel engines (2.0 TDI) with 90 kW (122 hp), 110 kW (150 hp) and 142 kW (193 hp) complete the drive range. Always standard: an automatic dual-clutch transmission (DSG). The variants with 195 kW and 142 kW have 4MOTION all-wheel drive on board as standard; all other models have front-wheel drive.

After a two-year break, it's back – louder and with a broader scope than before: on Saturday, 18 September 2021, at 7:00 p.m., the Porsche Museum will start the engines of several racing and series production cars from the company collection that have written or will write history in the future on the world's race tracks. "We are delighted to be able to announce our first Digital Sound Night to fans and customers all over the world. The coronavirus pandemic has presented all of us with enormous challenges, but it has also led us to seek out new opportunities," explains Achim Stejskal, Head of Porsche Heritage and Museum. "Following numerous requests, we realised that we were not the only ones who were missing the sound of engines. So this year, for the very first time we will broadcast the typical Porsche sound as a live Digitalevent in every country around the world."
How close the new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series actually is to motorsport has now been impressively demonstrated by GT3 racer Maro Engel on the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring. With an officially measured and notarized certified time of 6:43,616 min for the 20.6 kilometre-long track (measured without the straight at track section T13) and 6:48,047 min for the 20.832 kilometre-long total track (measured with the straight at track section T13), the new V8 meteor is placed in the top group of the street-legal “sports cars” category and number one among the fully standard, unmodified models.
