The light in the Q8 e-tron comes optionally from digital Matrix LED headlights. Broken down into 1.3 million pixels each, the light can be controlled with high precision, enabling many new functions. On highways, the orientation light marks the car's position in the lane and helps the driver stay safely centered. In addition, three new functions are available in the form of extended traffic information, lane light with direction indicator and orientation light on country roads. Behind the digital Matrix LED headlights is the new technology with the abbreviation DMD. This stands for Digital Micromirror Device and is previously known from video beamers. At its heart is a small chip with around 1.3 million micromirrors, each with an edge length of just a few thousandths of a millimeter.

The New Range Rover can trace its origins back through the generations; the falling roofline, strong waistline – with its horizontal emphasis – and lower rising sill. The characteristically short front overhang, formal front end, upright windscreen and distinctive boat tail rear, which tapers in plain view, are key elements in defining Range Rover’s proportions and conveying its peerless presence. Flush elements and tight tolerances are a hallmark of the New Range Rover and design-enabling technologies contribute to its sophisticated honed-from-solid appearance, include flush glazing, a hidden waist rail finisher and seamless laser-welded roof joints. The distinctive hidden-until-lit rear lights are also critical to the success of the design and will become a Range Rover signature.
Immendingen has a key role in the development of the mobility of the future: this is where Mercedes-Benz Cars is consolidating its worldwide vehicle testing, including the further development of alternative drives such as hybrids and electric vehicles under the product and technology brand EQ. Future assistance systems and automated driving functions are also tested here. The Test and Technology Center Immendingen was officially opened in September 2018 after a construction time of around three and a half years. Immendingen is located in Baden-Württemberg, 130 kilometres to the south of Stuttgart and 40 kilometres to the north of Radolfzell on Lake Constance.
