The Toyota bZ4X is on the shortlist for the "Car of the Year 2023" election: Only two years after the victory of the Yaris, Toyota thus has another chance to win Europe's most prestigious automotive award. Together with the technically related Subaru Solterra, the bZ4X is one of the seven finalists. The winner will be announced on January 13, 2023, at the Motor Show in Brussels. The Toyota bZ4X is the company's first all-electric vehicle. The SUV model is built on the e-TNGA modular platform developed specifically for battery electric vehicles and combines a striking design with ample space and advanced connectivity and safety technologies. In its entry-level version, the Toyota bZ4X comes with a 150 kW/204 hp electric motor that sends 265 Nm of torque to the front wheels. Alternatively, customers can opt for the X-Mode all-wheel drive system designed jointly with Subaru, which develops 160 kW/218 hp and 336 Nm of torque and ensures perfect traction even on difficult terrain. Thanks to the so-called "Single Pedal Drive", the Toyota bZ4X can be driven with just one pedal, regardless of the drive system: As soon as the driver takes his foot off the gas pedal, the vehicle decelerates - if necessary to a standstill - thanks to enhanced brake energy recovery.

The proceeds from the auction of the 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé serve as seed capital for the global initiative. Mercedes-Benz is committed to investing additional resources in the coming years. The “Mercedes Benz Fund” will be divided into two sub-categories: University Scholarships in order to connect, educate and encourage students to realize/conduct research on environmental science projects and School Scholarships focussing on pupils to realize local environmental projects in their communities. The programme funds will be directed to individuals who otherwise do not have the financial means for their projects and career paths. The programme will go beyond financially supporting the young people and include extracurricular elements like Mercedes-Benz mentorships opening up new career prospects. The “Mercedes Benz Fund” will be jointly developed with and managed by an experienced partner which is currently being evaluated. The detailed set-up and roll-out planning as well as the partner organisation will be announced later this year.

The BMW i Vision Circular Interior Design

With the BMW i Vision Circular, the BMW Group is demonstrating the consistent design of a car according to the principles of a circular economy. The overall design goal of this visionary vehicle was to create a vehicle that is optimized for closed material cycles and achieves a rate of 100% recycled materials or 100% recyclability. In addition to bio-based and certified raw materials, materials that have already passed through a product life cycle – so-called secondary materials – are used for this purpose. This also applies to the energy storage system: The solid-state battery of the BMW i Vision Circular is 100% recyclable and almost completely made from recycled materials. At the same time, it will achieve a considerably higher energy density with significantly fewer of the most valuable resources. “We have included circularity in our concept right from the start when designing the BMW i Vision Circular. That's why this visionary vehicle is full of innovative ideas that combine sustainability with new and inspiring aesthetics – we call this approach Circular Design,” explains Adrian van Hooydonk, Head of BMW Group Design. Circular Design is based on the four principles RE:THINK, RE:DUCE, RE:USE and RE:CYCLE.

The new model closes the last gap in the Q8 range and provides an innovative combination of efficiency and power. The SUV Coupé is available in two performance versions. The Q8 55 TFSI e quattro achieves a system output of 280 kW (381 PS). The Q8 60 TFSI e quattro even achieves a system output of 340 kW (462 PS). Audi is continuing its electrification offensive with the Q8 TFSI e quattro: The SUV Coupé is already the seventh model with plug-in hybrid drive that has been newly introduced on the market since mid-2019. Audi is putting this drive technology completely at the service of the customer: It provides customers with a confident electric driving experience, simple charging management, and a high level of everyday usability.
