Volkswagen Golf R "20 Years" - Anniversary model of the Golf R is now available to order

With its drive technology, the new Golf R "20 Years" tops everything that has been launched to date under the "Golf" label. The anniversary model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds; the top speed is electronically limited at 270 km/h. The Golf R "20 Years" is available to order now. Right from the start, the Golf R "20 Years" underscores its exceptional status. The 245 kW (333 hp) of the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo unit are effectively showcased. The driver-selectable emotional start activates an initial overshoot of the engine speed up to 2500 rpm and a particularly present drive acoustics, which further increase the anticipation of the typical "Driving R experience". During manual upshifts in S and S+ gears, the 7-speed DSG provides tangible feedback from the transmission and powertrain every time the right-hand shift paddle is pressed. In addition, optimized engine tuning enables particularly spontaneous load changes. By preloading the turbocharger, it is kept at a constant speed during part-load driving and can thus unleash its power more quickly during subsequent acceleration. The throttle valve, which is opened in overrun phases, also improves dynamics and performance on the road. When the throttle is released and acceleration resumes, it allows the engine torque to build up more quickly and noticeably optimizes the engine's response. This makes the Golf R "20 Years" even more dynamic and stable in sporty driving situations.
