Shortly before the anniversary of the Russian attack on Ukraine, U.S. President Joe Biden and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin engaged in a long-distance speech duel. While Putin blamed the West in a state of the nation address in the morning, Biden stressed Kiev's will to resist and NATO's cohesion in Warsaw. Putin's announcement that he would suspend the New Start disarmament agreement was later put into perspective by the Foreign Ministry in Moscow.
